FROM WHENCE WE CAME
The History of the New Thought Movement
From Whence We Came is the history of ideas which converged in American culture to become what we now know as the New Thought(NT) movement. These ideas originally arose before recorded history, but were rediscovered in the 19th century by some notable people whose works are the foundation for more current teachers such as Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle and Marianne Williamson. These great luminaries of NT were the first to frame them in words and make them accessible to the general public. Specific emphasis is given to the works of Thomas Troward, Emma Curtis Hopkins, Ernest Holmes,
and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The student should expect to experience:
A deepened self-awareness of their own beliefs coupled with the enhanced ability to compare and contrast ideas and concepts from a variety of master New Thought teachers.
A clear understanding of the lineage of teacher-student relationships that yielded the modern New Thought concepts and ideas.
Group bonding through the shared experiences of class life, especially via the discussions.
