We are starting a new column in our weekly e-blast with updates about our moving process as we begin the countdown for leaving Lakeside Pavilion.

Last Sunday, at the Community Meeting following service, Board President, Monte Buckhold announced that effective Sunday, May 1st we will begin conducting Sunday church services at:

We are very excited about the opportunity to join a wonderful community in Chico and to be renting the space from C.A.R.D. This center offers so many activities and classes within the area that are perfect representations of the types of activities we hope to also sponsor as our church grows and expands its outreach.
Eileen Lahey as been hired as our Moving Project Manager and she is coordinating all of the aspects of our move. And since we will be move to two temporary locations–the Dorothy Johnson Center for our Sunday services and a second site (to-be-determined) for our offices, you can imagine that there a lot of details and tasks. I love the idea of us being in a neighborhood where who we are will become visible in a part of a very active community. The DJC (as we are starting to call it) affords us a lovely space indoors for service and there is a great outdoor area that will be perfect for picnics and potlucks as the weather improves; and a communal garden. Oh, and there are two basketball hoops inside our ‘sanctuary’ area and I am thinking we ought to create our own team!
The Board of Trustees meeting is next Tuesday, April 12th, 6:00–8:00 p.m. if you wish to join us for any further updates about the sale, the move and general operations.
For now, it is business as usual.
